1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Brain Files at brainfiles.app ("the app," "the service," "we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
Brain Files is a free personal productivity tool designed to help users capture and organize thoughts, tasks, and appointments using AI-assisted categorization.
2. Description of Service
Brain Files provides the following features:
- AI-powered thought capture and categorization into tasks, appointments, email drafts, ideas, and research items
- Voice-to-text thought capture
- Optional integration with Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook to view and create calendar events
- Optional integration with Gmail and Outlook to send emails
- A unified calendar view combining events from connected services
The service is provided free of charge and is currently in Beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time.
3. User Accounts
You must sign in with a Google or Microsoft account to use Brain Files. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Brain Files to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Send spam, unsolicited messages, or bulk emails through the Gmail/Outlook integration
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or the app's systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the service in a way that places excessive load on our infrastructure
- Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Your Data
You retain full ownership of all thoughts, notes, tasks, and content you create in Brain Files. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

6. Third-Party Integrations
Brain Files optionally integrates with Google Calendar, Gmail, and Microsoft Outlook. Your use of these integrations is also subject to the terms of service of those respective providers:

7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Brain Files is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
The AI categorization feature is provided for convenience only. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of AI-generated categories, dates, or summaries. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before acting on it.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Brain Files and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or missed appointments or deadlines arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for a free service, is zero).
9. Changes to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Brain Files after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
